One of the most well-known and cherished sitcoms ever, “The Office” captures love, friendship, and laughter via its cast of memorable characters. On May 16, 2013, the nine-season show came to an end with a 75-minute finale.
This long episode was divided into two parts, which became the 24th and 25th episodes of the final season. The finale left the fans both heartbroken and satisfied. It was packed with several memorable moments, but let’s have a look at our top 5 among those.
Staggering Moments from ‘The Office’ Series Finale
5. Pam’s Grand Gesture for Jim
Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley were one of the many main characters of the show and throughout the 9 seasons, their chemistry was loved by the audience. Pam shows her support for Jim’s career aspirations by deciding to sell their house in Scranton so they can move to Austin, Texas, where Jim can fully commit to his new company, Athlead. This was a beautiful conclusion to their wonderful story!
4. Last Emotional Group Interview
A series that was based on documentary-style interviews, the last group interview of all the characters was something that left a mark on the hearts of its fans. The characters expressed their gratitude which depicted their personality development throughout the show, but our favorite moment was when Andy said,
“I wish there was a way to know you are in the good ol’ days before you’ve left them.”
3. Dwight and Angela’s Wedding
The on-and-off couple of the show, Dwight Schrute and Angela Martin, also got a lovely end to their story. Their wedding took place at the Schrute Farms (of course!), with a perfect blend of traditions and hearty humor. From them exchanging their vows while standing in their graves to literally all their wedding gifts being cats, the wedding truly depicted their love for each other.
2. Michael Scott’s Return
While the boss Michael had left Dunder Mifflin to start a new life with Holly, his unexpected return to Dwight’s wedding with his iconic line, “That’s what she said”, left the fans laughing and sobbing at the same time. His presence in the finale episode truly justified why Michael Scott was the heart of the show.
1. Jim’s Best Man Speech
Jim Halpert’s thoughtful speech as Dwight’s Best Man showed how the two characters came a long way from being adversaries to friends. Moreover, Jim bringing Michael to Dwight’s wedding as a surprise and labeling it as “the best prank ever” was probably the most staggering moment of the episode, showcasing the bond that the three of them shared.
Everyone who loved the show would agree that they watched the finale episode more than once, right? These moments from The Office’s finale provided the fans with a sentimental farewell and some well-deserved closure!
