Whenever we hear the word Friends, there’s a flood of noteworthy moments that we can think of. With every season there was a set of episodes that we all waited for starting from Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and, of course, The New Year.
When it comes to Thanksgiving, Friends is by far the best option to choose as every Thanksgiving episode in it is a treat to watch!
Let us take a look at the Top 5 Friends Thanksgiving Episodes.
Friends Thanksgiving Episodes
5. The One Where Underdog Gets Away (S1E9)
Friends season 1 was aired in 1994
Well, at the fifth position, we have the first-ever Thanksgiving episode from Friends. It significantly earns the top 5 spot considering it sets the perfect tone for the oncoming Thanksgiving episodes in the following seasons.
The episode starts with a down as our main characters are facing a tough time as Monica and Ross’s parents ditch them for their trip, Rachel misses her flight, and then Joey realizes he is the face of the VD campaign all over the city. Finally, as they try to capture the moment of the underdog getting away upon returning to their room they realize they are locked out adding up to their misfortune.
However, upon seeing the ugly naked man with a girl, they all realize that even though Thanksgiving sucked but they got to spend it with each other, turning it into one of those memorable Thanksgiving with cheese sandwiches (all thanks to Chandler Bing!).
4. The one with the Rumor (S8E9)
Friends is one of the most loved sitcoms worldwide
Considering the cameo of Brad Pitt (then husband of Jennifer Aniston aka Rachel Green) in this episode should be at the top but there are much better episodes lined up for you. The episode is filled with humorous gritty punchlines. Brad Pitt plays the role of Will, a friend of the siblings in the sitcom. Will and Ross created a bad reputation for Rachel cause she was mean to them. Ignoring the problematic rumor, the episode successfully adds humor and high-school nostalgia making it a must-watch during Thanksgiving.
3. The one with Chandler in a Box (S4E8)
Friends had a separate spin-off show called Joey with Matt LeBlanc as lead
As bizarre as it sounds, Chandler actually had to spend his Thanksgiving in a box since he kissed Joey’s then-girlfriend. The thought of Chandler being in a wooden box for 6 hours straight is weird but when you add up it with hilarious one-liners of Chandler it becomes an absolute treat to watch. However, Monica being flirtatious with Richard’s son Tim, makes the episode a bit awkward
2. The One Where Ross Got High (S6E9)

Keeping this episode on the 2nd can be quite debatable. If you are a Friends fan you’d know what this episode has done. Hitting all the right spots, well, not in terms of cooking but you get the point. Rachel trying to cook for this Thanksgiving by combining a Shepherd’s pie with Trifle. As disgusting as that sounds, our favorite Joey loved the pie!
This being the top moment, several other things made this episode one of the funniest. Phoebe dreams about Monica’s dad, and Ross admits it was he who smoked pot in college. All these combined make this episode an unforgettable one!
1. The One With All the Thanksgivings (S5E8)
A Friends reunion took place in 2021 where all the cast members were seen together after such a long time.
The top in the list is ‘TOW All the Thanksgivings’. Those who have seen this episode will remember the scene where Monica and Joey have their heads inside a turkey. It is only in this episode that we get to know about various things like why Chandler hated Thanksgiving so much, and how Monica accidentally dropped a knife on Chandler’s foot while flirting with him.
With a mix of old high-school unseen flashbacks topped with Phoebe’s past life story makes it a must-watch and the top Thanksgiving episode of Friends!
